Powered Land. Integrated Heat Reuse. Greater Possibility.
We help data center developers deploy faster, operate more efficiently, and deliver lasting community impact.

Building
to Scale
From the start, we’ve focused on making our solutions practical, efficient, and scalable. Our model integrates powered land, heat reuse systems, and hydroponic greenhouses into a single development approach.
That means data centers can deploy faster, lower PUE, and meet sustainability targets—while communities gain year-round food production, new jobs, and stronger local economies.
Every project is built with sound engineering, community partnership, and measurable outcomes in mind. It’s a closed-loop system where everyone benefits.
Our Solutions
01
Powered Land
We offer powered land opportunities adjacent to our greenhouse builds to help you develop in areas others can’t. We identify and prepare powered land opportunities that correlate with your customer demands and needs.

02
Waste Heat Integration
Our proprietary heat reuse solution captures your data center waste heat and repurposes it to heat colocated high-tech hydroponic greenhouses through a closed-loop system. Liquid cooling is then recycled back to the data center to lower your liquid cooling temperatures therefore lowering your mechanical PUE.

03
Hydroponic Greenhouses
Our controlled-environment hydroponic greenhouses transform waste heat and CO₂ into fresh, local food. Designed to operate year-round, they deliver higher yields using a fraction of the land and water required by traditional agriculture. Beyond efficiency, these greenhouses create meaningful local benefits—food security, job creation, and stronger community ties—while aligning your data center development with regional sustainability goals.

"Atherra’s approach exemplifies the next evolution of infrastructure efficiency. By integrating advanced thermal systems with agricultural technology, they’re converting data center waste heat into a productive energy cycle. At NVIDIA, we believe this kind of innovation, where compute performance drives real-world sustainability, is key to building a smarter, more resilient future."

Frequently Asked Questions
We are currently prioritizing site selection in colder climates where there is a need for local food production and access to powered land. Securing powered land is the foundation of every Atherra site. It enables us to deploy our integrated data center and greenhouse systems efficiently and at scale. Each location requires a minimum of 25 acres dedicated to hydroponic greenhouses—ensuring every deployment delivers optimal performance and impact.
We partner with local governments and economic development leaders to identify powered land opportunities that support both regional growth and sustainability goals. By combining data centers with controlled-environment agriculture, we’re able to develop on land zoned for agricultural use—expanding site potential while strengthening rural and ag-based communities. Together, these partnerships spark new economic activity, create resilient jobs, and advance local food security.
Our engineering team collaborates closely with your technical and facility operations teams to develop fully integrated, site-specific solutions. We tailor each deployment to your standards—from power distribution and thermal recovery systems to load balancing and greenhouse integrations—we ensure our solutions align with your uptime and sustainability objectives. Our design process incorporates detailed modeling of energy flows, waste heat utilization, and environmental conditions to ensure maximum efficiency and reliability across both the data center and agricultural components.
Our solutions are designed so that data center and greenhouse operations function independently without disruption to either operation. The greenhouse leverages waste heat and CO₂ from the data center through closed-loop energy and environmental management systems, ensuring no operational interference. All utility connections, control systems, and maintenance zones are physically and operationally segregated to protect uptime, redundancy, and security. Our engineering team also coordinates closely during design and commissioning to ensure your desired Tier level performance standards are fully maintained.
Our system captures waste heat from the data center to heat the greenhouse, maintaining a controlled 14°- 28°F ΔT (Delta T) between the supply and return air. This closed-loop integration consistently drives mechanical PUE reductions of 25–40%, depending on site conditions and operational load. While results vary with climate, configuration, and utilization, our engineering approach ensures every deployment delivers measurable efficiency gains and energy savings.
Our closed-loop thermal reuse system redirects waste heat to nearby greenhouses, then recirculates back to the data center, reducing mechanical loads by 25-40% on average. In cooler climates, under certain operating conditions, this can mean cutting the effective PUE from 1.4 to 1.21.
On a 100 MW AI data center campus, for example, this can result in 11 MW of reclaimed compute power and substantial operational savings.
